Hi all, finally I did some testing and I got the following results.
I tested both the code snippet and the External on a MacOS X Lion system, a MacOS X Mountain Lion, a Windows 7 and a Windows 8 (Preview) system.
The External is of course working in MacOS environments only since you need a .dll ...

Re: Checking language settings on Mac/Win desktop
Hi Guglielmo,
thank you for the update. Sandboxing could be an issue. Nevertheless I will try the code.
At last I have to read the Apple developer docs about this topic.
How ever, if this will be a serious problem I let the user choose the language until there is another solution available ...

Re: Checking language settings on Mac/Win desktop
Hi all,
thank you all for your answers.
I'll check and try the script Klaus provided tomorrow. Since I don't know anything about Externals development I have to wait if somebody else will find a solution if the above mentioned script don't works.

Checking language settings on Mac/Win desktop
How could I find out what language/locale settings are used on a desktop Mac and Win?
I'd like to set the user interface to the language the underlying system uses. Couldn't find a corresponding LiveCode command to check it.
May be there is a better way to get the settings then using a shell ...

Re: How to set app languages for the AppStores?
That's what I had already thought, but so far I didn't want to mess around with the LiveCode bundle.
Since to modify my final app bundle is not a valid option because of loosing the integrity of the signed bundle, I see two ways to go.
1. Have a look at the templates.
2. Make only apps ...

Re: How to set app languages for the AppStores?
Hi monte,
thank you very much.
If I add such a folder "fr.lproj" to my app, is English always a default language for the app and the AppStore shows now two languages? Or is the app then French only?
Cheers

How to set app languages for the AppStores?
Hi, I didn't found any satisfying answer to this topic in forums or docs.
How could I set the languages my app is supporting to be shown in the iOS (for example) AppStore?
If my app supports English and German I want it to show on the appstore page for my app too.
I know, it is an plist item. But ...

Re: DataGrid: 1st output line is different from other lines
Welcome!
Which lessons are you using?
i.e. Are you using the DataGrid as a Table or are you using the DataGrid as a Form?
Hi Barry, thank you! :)
I am using the DataGrid as a Form.
To build the DataGrid and to populate the behavior script I used the lesson http://lessons.runrev.com/s ...

Re: DataGrid: 1st output line is different from other lines
After playing around a little bit with the DataGrid I figured out, that the mystical disappearing of the field ">" may be an issue with displaying the DataGrid.
I added some more records to the DataGrid and after scrolling down the DG I have seen the field again in the 11th record and again after ...

DataGrid: 1st output line is different from other lines
Hi, I build a DataGrid using some of the lessons and now, after filling it with data, there is a strange behavior between the different output lines.

Re: Android SDK development root
OK. You certainly cant say I dont give up easily. Tech Support again was fantastic and supplied a different dx file to go in the tools folder. Well I am fairly new to macs and no matter how I tried to download it the file came down as a shell program. Removing the file extension didnt help and I ...

Re: Android SDK development root
Jens: since LC 4.6.2, you need to generate a signing key for each app.
Thanks!
I created the certificate as told by the corresponding revLessons and the guides at android(at)com.

Re: Android SDK development root
Hi,
configuration worked for me now, thanks Cube!
But I still get an error message if I try to use the Android emulator for testing. (Screenshot below)
Message: "Unable to build app for testing: could not encode class bundle"
Any idea?
Thanks!
