Re: Big Sur?

I wasn't aware of Livecode FM until now. I did a lot of FM development 10-15 years ago but have been out of that world for a long time. SQL became my friend.

Re: Big Sur?

Since rc5 came out I figured I would revisit the Data Grid issue. Still cannot get to the code for the grid that I worked so hard on. What a colossal waste of time. I'll have to resort to another tool for my cross platform applications. Thanks to all that tried to help, but this apparently is not re...

Re: Big Sur?

I made a new application and added 4 cards to it. each card that I tried to delete from the Project Browser was the correct one. I fear you may have another hard to replicate issue. But my knowledge is limited, perhaps others more knowledgeable can provide additional input.

Re: Big Sur?

My DG has alway been a table, I did not even really know about the form variation until this thread. I can verify this by opening an older file. Also, I was able to define my columns using the Columns tab on the PI when I first started this application. When I make a DG a "form" the Columns tab disa...

Re: Big Sur?

Hi Steve, The other possibility is that you followed the example given in the lesson “ How Do I Override the Default Behavior for Rendering Data to a Cell?” which instructs you modify the default column behavior. In this lesson you are instructed to set the default column behavior to a button you h...

Re: Big Sur?

Hi Steve, In the inspector along the top header row there is a small icon for the group’s script (well the script that corresponds to whatever the inspector is looking at.) When you click on that what do you get? Is it the same “behaviour” script you just mentioned? No, it's the script file for the...

Re: Big Sur?

Hi James, Thank you for your reply. I have always worked with the table form of the DG from the beginning. I never edited column scripts at all, I had functions that responded to the DG as a whole that contained a lot of functionality. For example, what row was selected, populating text fields with ...

Re: Big Sur?

Hi all, Recently released rc2 did not change the data grid issue. I still cannot access the scripts I wrote. This is pretty disheartening. The main functionality of my application is lost without being able to respond to rows being selected in the grid. The tutorial for working with grid data implie...

Re: Big Sur?

Thanks for the reply. The buttons are missing completely, I tried all of your suggestions. I am going to try to post a screenshot, let's see what happens.

Re: Big Sur?

So what I have found is that I am missing the "Edit Script" (and "Inspect Object") button from the Object Inspector window. Is there a way to get to the code via another way? I'd post a screen shot but I can't seem to post images here.

Thanks.

Re: Big Sur?

Sorry my full time job is insane this time of year. I restored a backup, and still do not have the handlers that I had originally coded. I had compiled a standalone app before Big Sur, and when I run that app the data grid does everything that I had implemented. Very strange! With some time off now ...

Re: Big Sur?

Sorry for not getting back to this thread. I am finding more serious things that I'm working on. I found that all of the code related to my data grid has vanished. I had handlers for row clicks amongst other things. If I figure anything out I'll be sure to post.

Re: Big Sur?

Thanks for posting the image. Yes, the 3rd image is what I see when hitting the Back button. The Back button simply take you back to card 1 from card 2.

Re: Big Sur?

Another thing I noticed: Since upgrading, functions related to single and double clicking rows in a data grid have not only stopped responding, the scripts seemed to have disappeared? I'm going to restore an older copy of my project on a machine that still has Catalina on it to confirm. Thanks. Stev...
