Re: LiveCode to Education Industry API- Community project
Sorry I missed the meeting. I'm very interested in this topic. I'm now working for Moodle (open-source LMS) full-time and could help provide testing and samples of use cases, if that would help.

Re: SCORM
This may be very helpful for SCORM 1.2. Unfortunately my account can't post links, so I've had to work around that... LINK: bit DOT ly SLASH 1F05Qcd For those wondering what this links to, it's an article titled "Adding SCORM code to an HTML file using the pipwerks SCORM wrapper" and I agree, it's ...

Re: SCORM
Looking through http://www.adlnet.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/SCORM_1.2_RunTimeEnv.pdf it seems like we need some stack-level scripts that will result in the following functions being defined in the final code: LMSInitialize() - signals the LMS to expect content LMSFinish() - signals the LMS that...

First time running LC 8 dp4 on Mac, no tools in palette
The first time I ran LiveCode 8.0 dp 4 on my Mac, I got only the pointer and edit pointer in the tools palette. I hadn't run any version of 8 before on this system. I couldn't figure out any way to make them show, including quitting and restarting LiveCode. The "New Control" menu item also wasn't co...

Re: SCORM
So now that we have a build that includes HTML output, what is needed to get a workable SCORM output?

Re: SCORM
At this point I'm waiting for HTML5 output. That should open up a whole new world for being able to "scormify" content for an LMS. Yes, and the open sourcing of LiveCode has made this option even more attractive! :D My college is very excited about this. We deliver many of our courses online and we...

Re: We're Funding LiveCode For the Web
Excellent. :) I've been waiting for this for years! In particular, I hope to be able to use this to develop a SCORM kit so educators can make interactive content that can be embedded in systems like Moodle. This would be a huge help. Most of the tools we have access to for this purpose are very expe...

Re: revweb support? HTML5 instead?
I think the refactoring being done for the open source initiative will make this somewhat easier, so hopefully it will be worth looking at again this fall. I've told the RunRev folks that I'd be happy to run a Kickstarter campaign to fund HTML5 support, and there has been some interest. We'll see wh...

Re: revweb support? HTML5 instead?
The web plugin has been officially discontinued, and the web as an output platform is no longer offered.
At this point, either compiling to HTML5 or getting the LiveCode server to render HTML5 seem like the best options. Does anyone know which would be easier, from a technical perspective?

Re: Web Deployment
There's also the long-term possibility in the future once the engine goes open-source of defining HTML5 as an output platform. Don't count on this as a short-term solution, though. This is precisely my hope, and I've gotten some encouraging replies from the RunRev staff that this is a direction the...

Re: revweb support? HTML5 instead?
You could always write your own Xcode to HTML5 parser.. Or I could just use Construct 2, and promote that to the faculty at my college instead of LiveCode. Not to be snarky, but I've already got a day job as an instructional designer, an evening job teaching stats, and a doctorate in educational re...

Re: revweb support? HTML5 instead?
I got an alert that there was an update to this thread, so I was disappointed to find it was only spam (reported). But in any case, I've asked if one of the stretch goals of the Kickstarter effort to create an open source version of LiveCode could support HTML5 as an output platform, and was told "w...
