Re: Collecting USB GPS data

Thanks a lot, bro! LiveCode is super fun. I'm just glad I know a few other languages or I'd of been stuck here for awhile. Back when I first started programming, I always wondered how different languages could come together for a project, or what programmers meant by "only knowing one language," is ...

Re: Collecting USB GPS data

I haven't gotten one yet. I want to be sure when I buy one, that I'll be getting one that will work with my project. I need more time to research.

Re: Collecting USB GPS data

Okay, I have discovered a workaround for this. If you are interested, then listen up. There does not appear to be a way to do this from LiveCode directly. You must use Java or another language capable of interfacing with a USB GPS device. While there might possibly by a way I've looked over, I have ...

And so, I decided to repost ny question here, hoping someone else might have insight into this question. Original post: I'm a hobbyist programmer...

Re: GPS data

The short answer: If your GPS device is NMEA compliant like the Globalsat BU 353, then it transmits serial data via usb. LC can read data from a serial device, so it would just be up to you to parse and display. Perhaps if necessary, someone more knowledgeable than I could give you a more detailed ...

GPS data

Greetings! I am fairly new to Live Code. I'm a hobbyist programmer. For a living I do a lot of road traveling. I am curious. Is there a way to access GPS data from Live Code somehow? There are a lot of thing I could do to make my life a lot easier if there was a way to keep track of my location in a...

How to make video tutorials

Greetings Rev Community! I have to say that I'm having a blast with Revolution. I bought the Enterprise edition of Rev so I can use it on my other computers too. I find it really awesome how everything just works. At school we're going through C. Most of my time is spent thinking about syntax and de...

Hi, I am the author of said charts add-on. Even though it comes with a trial version and a heap of examples, I'd suggest start with the basics first and try it out once you mastered some small projects. Once you feel comfortable with the main language, I'd suggest to go see for yourself if the add ...

Newbie Questions -- Tutor, Graphs and Charts

Okay, I am new to programming. I've only been studying a few years on and off. Now that I'm in school I decided to buy Revolution. I have a lot of ideas, but it's somewhat intimidating how much you can do with Rev. It is hard to know where to start. Does anybody know of any video tutorials other tha...
