I figured out that my use of CMYK images was the problem. When I converted the images to RGB, they displayed correctly after being brought into LiveCode.

I've imported icon images into my stack, and find that the colors are quite different (seemingly inverted to the complementary colors) from how the original images appear in my browser and in Photoshop.
