New audio for player being "ignored" by plug-in

Post by Steve » Thu Feb 02, 2012 11:04 pm

I'm using audio in a LiveCode program on the web. That is, I have published my LiveCode program for the web and put it on a web server. It contains players that point to audio files on the same server. My openCard script sets the filename of the player to the correct URL.

The players have been running fine, playing the audio at the correct time (when opening the card).

But recently I had to modify the audio. After I uploaded the new audio file, using the SAME filename, the published web program keeps playing the old version of the audio, as if it is in a cache or buffer. I made certain that the old version was not still on the server. I tried reloading the web page while running it in the browser. I tried emptying my browser's history, cache, etc. The old audio kept playing. UNTIL the next day. Then the new audio started playing.

Is there some way to force the player to get the new file from the server, rather than from some buffer or cache?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Sincerely,
