Vector graphics from external editor?

HI, About 20 years ago I was very proficient with Supercard. At that time I used to create vector graphics using the Canvas graphics program and then copy and paste the Canvas graphics into Supercard where the individual vector objects that made up the more complex graphic became individual graphic objects that I could build handlers for and manipulate programatically. Can this be done with LiveCode on either Mac or PC using any external graphics program?
