Free Hand Curve Graphic Type

Hi,

Does anyone know where there are some documentation for use of the free hand curve type of graphic.

We are using a polygon type at the moment to draw a graphic which works, but it is a defined point to point graph, I would like to add the option to have it 'smoothed', and the free hand curve sounds like what im looking for, but I cant seem to make it work, with the same data it simply draws the same graph as the polygon type.

Any ideas?
