Audio broadcast and receiver, over the internet

Post by DavJans » Wed Oct 21, 2015 5:27 pm

I'm looking for a way to capture audio from the microphone port on a windows computer at my work and broadcast it over the internet to my PC at home. Is this possible with livecode?

I'm guessing I would need to create 2 stacks one that can listen and broadcast the audio and one that would receive and play.

Kind of like video security cameras can bee seen on a cell phone but just audio.

Hi, probably this is possible in Livecode, but if it is simply streaming audio from the office to home it might be easier to use one of the available live streaming servers such as icecast. My friend used it to stream the sound of deep Finnish forest into a museum somewhere in Europe. In Livecode my first idea would be to make a stack at the office computer that records the signal from the audio source in small packages and upload those packages to your server. A stack on your home computer would than download that packages and merge them for playback. Perhaps the mergAV external is needed for this.

Best
