Hi all,

Considering Apple TV.

Anyone have Apple TV running on PC inTRAnet?

I understand you HAVE to have iTunes not matter what.
OK have iTunes on PC for iPod Shuffle.
Works ok.

What about streaming videos.
Will iTunes just point to my videos or do I have to purchase video via iTunes to get them to work?
Are .vobs ok like VLC plays anything?
I don't mind converting using 3rd party software if iTunes requires it.

Does Apple TV use iOS?
Can we develop of Apple TV?

If iTunes will play it (natively) then the Apple TV will play it (I believe that might be a few files that iTunes will play that the Apple TV won't but that might be because I still am running the first gen Apple TV).. You will need to convert VOB files, you might also want to look up and see if any of the old tools have been ported to the new Apple TV..

The new Apple TV (the little black box that only streams) runs on iOS (maybe a modified version of it).. The first gen Apple TV ran a modified version of OS X.. Currently the Apple TV is a walled off garden to developers..

An excellent response!

Many thanks.

Just returned from purchasing.

Shame I won't be able to program it.

All kinds of hacks here.

If they can do it why can't we?
