I'm not sure if there is an attachment filesize quota that is being exceeded, but this is the 4th time I've tried to document this error in the forum and every previous post seems to disappear before being posted (via Preview or Submit). So here goes:
LC8 doesn't allow you to change text properties of a field via the Text dropdown menu. Specifically discovered trying to complete Lesson 4 of LiveCode University.
I tried to attach a screengrab video documenting the bug, but upload attachment seems to fail and I can't link to where the file is saved in Dropbox. Let me know if you need further clarification or how I can share the video.

1. welcome to the forum!
2. Because we have a lot of SPAMMERS here, you need to have a certain amout of postings (10? not sure)
before you can post attachments and links!
3. Do not forget the LC 8 is currently a VERY early developer preview!
But maybe you are misunderstanding the TEXT menu?
That is meant to format SELECTED TEXT in RUN mode and not the properties of a text field object!
Switch to EDIT mode (pointer tool), select the text field and use the property inspector to modify the fiels props.
But maybe I misunderstand your problem
