I've just replied an old post in the Android forum but it could possibly be a bug so will include here. Also, I'm not sure how much attention a reply to a 4 year old post will get...

You might be surprised, I've gotten a lot of response on topics far older than that for projects (mostly) long since abandoned. Good crew on deck here

Have to check tonight, if i have time.
I use a player too on one app, and if i'm correct i tried it too. not sure.
else if no one replies in one or two days, then better make a bug report

i just checked my script, but there is no difference then what is in the first post of your link, sorry.
What i do see in my app is that the player is of itself a bit transparent because i can see the image behind it a bit darker.
