LiveCode bug when I go into stack script so I can no longer program (stack 35 MB 533 cards)
Although this post has all the earmarks of being a bot, IF it is not a bot, I think almost everyone would need more of a description of what the problem is.

I did not explain myself well. I am a doctor and have written my personal software since hypercard in 1992. I speak poor English and am self-taught. My scripts are very long but my stack set works and is very flexible. From a basic battery called SHEET I work with ± 40 secondary batteries. My organization has several major flaws: Scripts too long (± 4000 lines in the main stack) - redundancies which can make certain files heavy. Every 2 years I archive the Basic Sheet and start a new organization. Currently the Basic Stack called SHEET contains 533 cards. The script of this stack is ± 4000 lines, I can have an instant access to ± 16000 patients. I suspect that a too heavy file is responsible for the fact that the Stack Script request always causes a bug and quits but ...? Thank you for your advice

Je me suis mal expliqué. ? Merci de vos conseils.

OK we come from the same barrel (autodidact, hypercard and... frenchy bad in english) :D
If it is to open the script editor you can block all messages (btn "messages" in the toolbar)
If it is at the opening of the stack that LC leaves there is a good chance that the problem is located at startup, preopenstack, openstack, preopencard, opencard or in a message sent by these four message that you may watch with breakpoints.
Best regards
Jean-Marc
P.S: Thierry va vous sortir d'affaire, c'est sûr

"Un pile" c'est "a battery" when it is something to do with electricity, mais je pense dans ce context
ici c'est un spreadsheet or database.

Ou, possiblement: "pile" = "stack."

Bon ben!

The OP ce n'est pas seulement un autodidact en LiveCode, Il est un autodidact avec la langue Anglais.

Piles = haemorrhoids

You can get these by sitting in front of a computer working avec des piles for far too long.

Bonjour François,

For sure, you're not a bot,
and I'm not sure how to label some posts from this thread...
spam ? :roll:
Thierry DOUEZ found and repair my bug.
As the saying goes, one must give to Caesar what is Caesar's'.
So it was a pure LiveCode bug, not yours: corrupted stack, unable to do anything in the IDE.

Longue vie a votre superbe application :)

bogs decided that the OP was a bot;

nothing to do with LiveCode's Forums system.

Personally I'd be very careful about labelling something as a bot.

Want to re-word that one a bit? After all, *IF* I had decided the poster was a bot, I would not have replied at all.

In fact, what I said was that the post has the earmarks of a bot, not that it was one, and that it did not contain enough information to be solved by almost anyone. The following are the two original posts -

The poster understood that they hadn't posted enough information, and came back to clarify, thankfully they found help as well.

While I questioned whether the poster was a bot or not from the content of the post, NO one decided anyone was a bot here, although I may start questioning your status next Richmond :P
