Editing the Dictionary

I know that this does not really concern current users of LiveCode, but I thought I would mention it anyway.

I have just finished going through the LC 9.6.3 Dictionary checking for instances of the term "Unix"
and found 204 entries for it: about 200 of which should refer to Linux.

The remainder refer to EPS files used on UNIX systems with PostScript.

As LiveCode 9.6.3 does not run on UNIX this is hilarious.

I also removed a reference to Windows Vista.

NOW I will be going through the Dictionary for references to MacOS 9 and earlier (I have already found some).

Richmond.

There was a time long ago where the dictionary was open to editing, like Wikipedia. I made several changes and additions here and there.

It would be a full time job to monitor such a thing, which is why I think this is no longer an option.

I am NOT monitoring the Dictionary.

I have, so far, devoted 18 hours to editing the whole thing (and envisage about another 36 hoors) in an attempt to bring it up to date as much as I can
in the light of the "You know what" (which I am not allowed to name over here).

Anyway, when I embarked on this I had no idea JUST how much seems not to have been touched, in some cases quite obviously for about 20 years.

I am NOT monitoring the Dictionary.
That was my point; I do not think anyone is.

Is your dictionary project for your own use?

No.

The Dictionary is for the 'not to be mentioned' project.
