Odd error, Slow app launch times - but only on some systems

Any ideas?

If we compile an app (anything, just a stack with a card and single button) and launch it in most versions of windows it loads almost instantly, but we have two pcs running windows xp (up to date with all service packs) that take around 20 seconds to load the same app.

The two pcs load everything else just fine, its just any revolution build app that takes ages to load. We figure it must have happened with a recent windows update as both were working fine before, and our rev apps have not changed.

Same apps load just fine on other pcs.

Ive rolled back to older versions of runrev building the most basic of apps but get the same problem, Ive even used the parallels transporter to make a copy of the xp machine and run it as a virtual pc on the mac to see if it was a hardware issue and with the same result (slow load).

Any ideas? Ill get to the point of reformatting the pcs soon as all the others work fine, but ideally id like to figure out what could be causing the slow load, is there anything that can be tweaked in revolution or anyone knows about that might cause a very slow load time?

Thanks

Andy

never experienced anything like that, but off the top of my head, are there any issues with quicktime on the two PC's this is occurring on?

Try it with the antivirus off if you have one installed. A delay like that (20-30 seconds) can be caused by an overly zealous antivirus.
I've had this happen with Rev and Delphi apps.

Thanks, I hadnt thought of the anti virus or Quicktime.

Ive updated Quicktime, and removed the Anti Virus and tested, and still the same. Ive reinstalled another antivirus and rescanned and there are no bugs picked up.

It just seems to be these two machines and its only Rev apps that start so slow (once running they run just fine).

Ill just reload windows onto them see if that helps as I can only think its a conflict with a driver somewhere, thanks anyway for the suggestions!
