Apps deployed for mac os x do not start

I am a newbie on runrev and faced with the following problem: after deploying an application for mac os x it isn't possible to start the app. Starting the app on windows or via web browser (deployed for the web) I don't have any problems. I am using runtime revolution enterprise, version 4.0.0-gm-1 and working on an intel macbook pro with snow leopard. I know that with version 4.5.0-dp-2 this is a known issue but as I mentioned, I don't use this version. Is there any one who can help me?

Thanks,
Jörg

Thanks to all repliers to my question! In the meantime I was able to solve the problem by myself: I had the special character "ä" in the name of the folder where I deployed the applications. Removing that character all works fine. So it must be that revolution isn't able to deploy to folders where such (or special) characters are part of the name.

Moin Jörg,

could you enter that into quality.runrev.com?

Danke,

Hi all,

OH MY GOD! Rev still has problems with umlauts/accents in path names?
Unbelievable!!! :( :( :(

Yes, Jörg, please bug report this as soon as possible, thanks!

Please review existing related reports to see if it may be simpler to add your votes to those before making a new one:

Some ascii characters in a standalone's name keep it from building correctly
http://quality.runrev.com/qacenter/show_bug.cgi?id=2049

Unicode filenames are not supported
http://quality.runrev.com/qacenter/show_bug.cgi?id=2646

Files with high-ASCII characters are not recognized by Revolution
http://quality.runrev.com/qacenter/show_bug.cgi?id=6394

Accented chars can't be used in file names
http://quality.runrev.com/qacenter/show_bug.cgi?id=7019

From the notes there it seems the problem is being worked on, but adding votes to those may help raise their visibility to better ensure it gets addressed quickly.

Hi malte, Klaus and ForthWorld,

I have reviewed the existing reports. However I have decided to enter the problem into quality.runrev.com because I think that these reports do not address the problem exactly: http://quality.runrev.com/qacenter/show_bug.cgi?id=8624

Thanks to all

Jörg

Hi Jörg,

just added a comment and some votes to this bug.

Could you please change the "Severity" from "Minor" to "Blocker"?
I usually enter "Major", don't know why... :D
This is definitively a blocker for serious work in umlaut (germany) and accent (france) countries!

Thanks and schönes Wochenende :)

Klaus
