I'm trying to run an evaluation version of Revolution and when I start it up I get the following message:

----------------------------------------------------------------
Fatal error: No screen visual available
I need to be able to get a 32-bit visual for this screen but was unable to. Sorry.
----------------------------------------------------------------

There was another post where the poster figured out he could start revolution with the -s option and that makes his problem go away, but when I do this I still get the error. I'm running on a compute farm running Red Hat Linux 4 and I'm using TightVNC. Anyone have any ideas?

I figured out that if I start the VNC server on the Linux box with "vncserver -depth 24" I don't get the error and I do get the dialog asking me for my unlock code, but when I hit "continue" the program terminates. 24-bits is the deepest that vncserver supports.

I tried ssh-ing in from my Mac using "ssh -X -Y". When I run revolution I get the same thing, but it does give me "Exit 255" on the command line.

The Linux box I'm using is part of a compute farm that's in a server room down the hall, so I have to use something like VNC.
