Scott MacDonald explains very well what kind of games work in Livecode. You don't have to buy the book but you might want to.
There are free examples of coding techniques on his site.

this was put together in version 3.5, I think... a long time ago anyway...
click on the link4 logo at the bottom left to start a new game....
