To open HyperCard Stacks with one command

I know "To open your HyperCard stacks in Revolution, make sure you enable all file types in the open file dialog"
But, I need to convert a stack of numerous HyperCards. So, isn't there a command to display the Open All Files dialog?

Possibly when Create was LiveCode was Revolution.

Best bet: get a PPC Mac, install MacOS 9.2.1 and MacOS 10 4 on it, download Revolution 2 from Macintosh Garden and convert what you can: then work with converted stacks in something a bit more up to date.

The easiest way is to just drag the stack in the Finder to the Livecode icon in the dock. That way you don't need to use the file dialog at all.

Hi.

Whatever Jacque says is the best.

But:
But, I need to convert a stack of numerous HyperCards.
Do you mean a single stack with many cards or many stacks?

Thank you for answering my newbie question.
Unfortunately, the Livecode ICON in the dock did not respond when I tried to drag and drop a HyperCard stack. The converted Livecode stack responds fine and can be opened.
I tried MacOS 12_7_6 (Monterey) ,Livecode 10_0_0.

"But, I need to convert a stack of numerous HyperCards."
I meant to say, “but I need to convert numerous HyperCard stacks.” That is what I meant. I missed the google translation error because the Japanese language is ambiguous about plural and singular expressions.

Hi HybridChild,

welcome to the forum! :-)
Unfortunately, the Livecode ICON in the dock did not respond when I tried to drag and drop a HyperCard stack.
You can force LC (and any other app on the Mac) to (try to) open any file by holding ALT and CMD key down
and then dropping the file onto the icon in the dock!

Best

Klaus

Ah I've been wondering about that, so LC team did fix the HyperCard importing in Mac v10, nice! That was broken from > LC 6.5.2 iirc. Probably many stacks lose things from they Mac Classic 'resource-fork' on newest macOS's that do not support the resource fork fully anymore (that was deprecated by Apple like two decades ago.).

There is also a handy tool called HyperCard Preview available on Github, that's written with Swift and so supports latest macOSes. That can even view HC-'protected' stacks, extract some resources like PICTs, and ICONs.
