Hello everyone, I someone who has no experience in IT and anything with programming, but I want to learn and now I want to build an app on desktop, tablet and mobile but this need a database. Database will consist only text, no images or video included but there will be plenty of text. So I read about maybe SQL but am getting confused with all these bunch info around. My app will use content of database offline and online ( I don't know if this is possible, maybe if off-line there need to be embedded database I don't know ? ) But am not sure probably I will have to find someone to program a database for me which integrates all its content with an app.
I would like to get it started but don't know where to go and what to do about it...Would like to learn LIVE CODE if that would help but am not sure yet
Please if you know anything about my issue, please let me know. Database must store loads of text data, that you could use it direct on the app online and offline That's all, thanks for your reply and Happy new year fro all Artur

Online and offline ?
I would say : MySQL.
Or PostgreSQL.
Both can be installed on your local network. And also, on any "regular" webhosting plans.
LiveCode is the perfect tool to design "intelligent database front ends".
You can start on your own pc, you don't even need a network : install MySQL server on it. LiveCode has a driver to "talk" directly to a MySQL server.
The most difficult part I would say is for you to get a little familiar with basic SQL commands (SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE) and the basic logic behind designing a database (with tables, columns, and links between them).
Good luck !

Hi thank you for your reply and I got some ideas about database and LIVE CODE that this is perfect for designing "intelligent database front ends", and I know that I don't have time to learn about how to create a database even in LIVE CODE So am looking for someone who knows how to build a database which later on will be connected to my application with syntax in LIVE CODE also and this application I will use on every possible device mobile, tablet and desktops...
So if there is someone who know the subject I would like to get in touch with you. Thank and hear from you soon Artur
