I am using Xcode 6.1.1 and LC 7.0.1. One of my apps compiles fine and the other gives me the error. Does this mean that the Development Provisioning Profile was not signed with the signing identity?
I had a lot of problems trying to delete signing id's and app id's etc. to try to get everything working after I moved everything to a new Mac.
I had never used Xcode 6.1.1 on the old computer and now that is what I have.
I am almost there but....

Re: Could not find a valid Identity error
Finally fixed it. Turns out that the signing ID in my Apple developer portal was void. (a whole other story) There was an option to delete the Void ID and request another.
Worked like a champ.
I feel pretty dumb but at least I did eventually figure it out.
Hopefully This will help some other newbie who gets into this kind of fix.

Re: Could not find a valid Identity error
Tom I think most (every?) developers have been bitten by some aspect of the developer portal - so if you feel dumb you're in good company!
