iOS and scanning barcodes
Is there a way in runrev to use the iPhone camera to capture an image and then return the value of the barcode contained in the image?
Redlaser.com produce a set of iOS Objective-C libraries for barcode capture that can be used in an iPhone app if it is built using Xcode. Is it possible to get runrev to integrate with these libraries for iOS deployment?

Hi All,
I am looking for a library to scan barcodes from an iOS app. Any news about that?
All the best

Hi All
Have you seen CNS Barcode, an app which seems quite useful for exporting barcodes to other programs. I use it to capture barcodes for use in FMGo on my iPhone, it might well be worth a look to see if you can integrate it into a Livecode workflow.
Good luck
Al

Re: iOS and scanning barcodes
I'm pretty sure RR have limited their ios development to the features of iPhone only.
I've seen no evidence of trying to improve on Apples iOS technology.
There is a procedure to working with externals.
But its rediculously complex and requires use of yet another language.

Here is an article about best barcode reader for apple phones. Oops, I cannot post links, so you need to search the information at iphoneness and BarcodeLib yourself.PaoloMazza wrote:Hi All,
