Art Question

Post by richardmac » Mon Jan 07, 2013 4:09 am

My old partner Chris and I had two apps in the App Store, but Chris got hired by Apple, and part of the deal with working for Apple is that you don't make and sell software on the side. So we had to pull the two apps and I was able to put them back up under a new company name, because Chris left the apps with me (being the good guy that he is.)

BUT Chris was the artist and I was the programmer. So now I have apps I want to build and no artist. What I'm wondering is what the rest of you guys and girls do regarding the artwork for your apps. Do you do your own art? Do you have any tricks to share that might be helpful? If you hire your art out, who does it, and how does that work for you?

I hire mine out, because nobody would ever buy anything I made if it had my attempts at artwork in it. :) It works out very well for me, but I've been hiring an artist friend for the last 20 years, so there are no trust issues.

for generic art, clipart.com, or for me, have my 12 year old daughter draw for me.
