My First iPad App

Post by RogGuay » Sat Mar 16, 2013 4:23 pm

Hello Folks!

I am very pleased and proud to announce that my first iPad app is now available on iTunes. SETIsyncProb was created by me and donated to (and published by) the SETI Institute so that all proceeds would go to them. (This was a long and painful process compared to actually building the app.)

Please have a look, download a copy and please give it a great review. It will cost you less than a buck, and you'll be supporting a worthy non-profit scientific institution!

BTW, It is available only as an iPad app because I needed the pixel real estate to accurately scale the simulation. But, for anyone on this list, I'll give you a Mac or Windows (untested) version for free. Just let me know, And I would love to get your honest feedback via email.

Thanks and cheers,
Roger

Hi Roger,

I grabbed a copy from iTunes. I'll have a good play with it and drop a review on there (it'll be under the UK area!) I hope it helps with more sales for you :)

It looks interesting from the perspective of galactic study and I'm looking forward to seeing what it can do.

Of a similar, but different subject, nature the 'exoplanet' app is very interesting for seeing where exoplanets are in relation to our system. It has a great 3D galaxy/universe display (which is enhanced with the paid version). I didn't write exoplanet, I'm just a user who likes it.

Keep up the good work,

Dave

Hi Roger,

It looks excellent.
I didn't bought yet, since I don't have an iPad.
Just waiting the iPad Mini's retina version 8)
But I added your app to my wishlist :wink:

Your app definitely should be in livecode1001;
send an e-mail and a couple of screenshots to Peter...

Best,

Hello Dave,

Thanks very much for your comments and purchase. Yes, I have Exoplanet, but have not had time to play with it very much. I believe that SETI is now "focussed" on these Exoplanets in their continuing search for ETI.

Thanks again,
Roger

Hello Ender,

I admit I don't know for sure, but if the iPad mini has 1024 by 768 pixels, it should work. Maybe someone else on this list will know??

Hi Roger,

I'm sure your app will work fine on an iPad mini with its current resolution;
however, I'm waiting the iPad Mini Retina to buy an iPad at all 8)

But, it just came to my mind that I don't have to wait to own an iPad;
I grabbed a copy of Seti Sync via iTunes on my desktop.

Congratulations again, it looks really excellent...

Thanks, Ender. It works on my iPad Retina so it should work on an iPad Mini Retina.
