Also where should the "retrieve file" script be place if not in preOpenCard? This is probably so simple, I'm a bit embarrassed to ask.

So, I answered that... if this does not help him then I obviously have not understood what he is trying to do... and will now 'shut up' !...

No need to shut up . Thanks for the example stack. I integrated it and it works great. I put the retrieve photo code into preOpenCard and it works fine there as well. Thank you everyone for your help. Much appreciated.
