Image reveal in iOS

Hi all,
I was wondering what the best and most efficient way would be to do the following:
On one card I want to have 2 or 3 "stacks" of images and when you swipe up on a particular "stack" of images the top image would slide up revealing the underlying image and if you swiped down the previous image would slide back down. I guess it's not unlike looking at pictures in the iPhone photo gallery only sliding up instead of sideways.
Is it better to just load all of the pictures onto the card or have them load from a folder?
Can you do visual effects on an image stack instead of the card?
Hopefully this makes sense.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Gary
