When creating an iOS app that prints via AirPrint you need to add the following file in the Copy Files section of Standalone Applications Settings:
CopyFiles.png
If you create an app for Android without removing this file, the Android app will launch, show a black screen and freeze. Removing this file solves the problem for Android.

Is there a solution to this issue - short have having to continue to add/remove this entry depending on the platform targeted?

Hi Doug,

since this is a special iOS external, you will need to remove this if you compile for ANDROID!
If you don't, ANDROID will try to load this external and, well, you see what happens then 8)

Sorry, no other way...
