getting LiveCode IDE to run at Retina Resolution

Afternoon all,

Just moving my development work over to a 13" MacBook Pro Retina and have noticed that the IDE doesn't seem to
run taking into consideration the Retina Display..

For example, I used to do my Dev work on a 27" IMac and could easily fit a Retina IPhone 5 Stack onto the screen but now on the
MacBook Pro Retina the same stack doesn't go close to fitting on the screen..

Is there a way to achieve this or am I thinking of this all wrong?

Many Thanks

Nakia

Hi Nakia,

I am not sure, but isn't this a setting on the Powerbook to have
a. more "screen estate" or
b. sharper display (= less screen estate but higher resolution)
?

I do not have a Powerbook but I remember to have read something about this...
On the other hand I may be completely wrong!? 8)

Thanks Dixie but my question isn't quite the same.

The MacBook theoretically has enough resolution to display what I need, but it appears LC doesn't operate taking this into consideration...

My old machine (27" IMAC) has almost the same resolution as my Retina MacBook (13" x 2 =26") so the way I understand it I should be able to view
almost the same size stacks......

Maybe I am thinking about this all wrong?

Hi Nakia,
AFAIK, if the code is not written for "retina-display" you can do nothing ...

Here https://developer.apple.com/library/mac ... ction.html Apple give some guidelines on how the code should be modified to run in "High Resolution" and again, AFAIK, LiveCode as not been modified to run in this way.

For example, a few days ago, Adobe has released a new version of Photoshop and Lightroom which can run on "retina-display" ... but, to do this, they have made a new version of the programs !

Hi Nakia,

You know that macbook pro retina's don't work on the premised resolutions {2560*1600 or 2880*1800}, right?
There's no way to achieve that resolution natively.
What you see on the screen is only a condensed view.
I use a 15" macbook pro retina, so I'm pretty sure of this.
There's nothing wrong with LiveCode's handling of the screen estate.

Try one of these solutions...
