Any libraries for accessing Stackmob, Parse, Deployd etc?

Hi,

I'm struggling to find an easy way (LiveCode library?) of accessing any of the 'BackEnd As A Service' (BAAS) platforms such as Parse, UrbanAirship, Deployd (open source), CocoaFish etc.

Having a resilient easy-to-access backend for data storage & retrieval is a must these days, not to mention all the other side benefits of these platforms like push notificatios, cross device sync, analytics, session control, ACLs & roles etc.

Parse maintains an extensive list of 3rd party libraries written to access but no LiveCode.... :-(

Anyone working on, or know of a library that brings BAAS to LiveCode?

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve,

Please, don't post duplicate queries. You asked your question already here. If you want, you can add a remark to an old question to get renewed attention from forum readers. If you do this once or twice without getting an answer, then you have to assume that this subject can't be answered or that people on this forum have no interest in the subject at this time and you could try again e.g. 6 or 12 months later.

However, if you explain a little more about what exactly you would need to be able to use those things, which are quite unknown in this community, with LiveCode, perhaps someone could give you a few hints to get started. Since no one responded to your earlier messages, you'll probably have to build those libraries yourself, with the help of some experts on this forum, or ask a pro to do it.

Your messages will stay on the forum. If someone is interested in the subject, s/he will find your posts and leave a reply. Don't repeat yourself.

Kind regards,

Mark

Mark,

I thought it relevant to the OP's question in this posting & might steer him in the direction of a possible solution to his problem. Which, frankly I still think it would. He may not have read my initial post so I put a similar observation here just in case..

Sorry if that's a crime, I'll bear it in mind before attempting to help people or suggest things in the future.

All the services I listed are free and have REST access so strictly speaking it should be possible to integrate with LC, albeit not as elegant as a dedicated SDK or native support.

Hi Steve,

You're the OP in both posts (this one and the one I linked to). No, it isn't a crime, but it is not appreciated and eventually the admins (not me) might decide to remove a few of your repetitive posts.

If you need help implementing those API's, just explain how far you got and where you get stuck and someone will try to help you if possible.

Kind regards,

Mark

It might be appreciated by the guy who was looking for a solution and maybe I helped.

Steve,

That guy was you. This discussion is going nowhere, because you don't elaborate on your question. I'm no participating in this thread anymore.

Kind regards,

Mark

The guy in the other post: http://forums.runrev.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=13045

"Use web service for mobile app and MS SQL?" was the OP's query. Parse, Stackmob etc are web services which have database stye functionality for developers. It seemed relevant to his question wouldn't you say?

Instead of connecting to MySQL he could connect to something like Parse or Stackmob which are specifically designed for what he seemed to be attempting to do - that's all I was trying to say. As there has been deathly silence in response to my initial inquiry about BAAS support in my own post I doubt it hurt too much to bring the subject up a second time, as clearly it didn't ring any bells with people.

Hi Steve,
You are more likely to get an answer on the User List for this kind of question. Many List users do not use the forums.
Here's a link on the list that mentions backend as a service.
