I know the App Store has pretty high standards, are there any issues with getting a LiveCode app accepted there?
BTW, I remember when Hypercard came out when I was in grad school, and I've used RunRev for client demos but never actually deployed an app—but I'm planning to get into mobile app development.

Hi Activa and welcome to the forum
No real issues submitting apps to the App Store - I and many other LiveCode developers submit apps (and updates to apps) regularly using Apple standard tools such as 'Application Loader', 'iTunes Connect' etc.
The only slight wrinkle is that sometimes after we have submitted an app we might get a warning message about something like missing icon sizes in the bundle - these are usually down to changes in how Apple reads/writes the app's plist and do not prevent your app being approved and appearing in the App Store.
For me doing the code is easy, it's dealing with things like certificates, digital identities and iTunes Connect that causes the hassle!

Hey Dave,
Thanks for the info. I'm not expecting to "get rich quick," but there appear to be people making money "flipping" apps (and no doubt lots losing money too, buying source code from sites like app empire and apptopia. Any insights into this arena, especially with respect to using LiveCode?

Yeah I've also read about 'flipping' apps, and apart from the fact that Objective-C will have a huge code-base as compared to LiveCode, can't see any technical reason not to.
Actually I and I'm sure many others here would be very interested to hear how you get on 'flipping' so please keep us informed how you get on
Kind regards
Dave
