Hi all version of livecode that I had running on my machine suddenly stopped working a couple of nights ago I was getting "Unknown deployment platform" MY TEST and TEST TARGET'S were greyed out and when I went in to livecode preferences/mobile support the IOS SDK's where blank. I uninstalled livecode All versions both stable and pre releases to no avail then I reinstalled xcode still no go. I backed up my system and figured I would try installing yosemite and see if that made a difference, Same thing retried reinstalling livecode and xcode beta for yosemite and now I have "/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer" but get unable to start simulator 634,0,0 no toolset 573,175,1,reviphonesetsimulatorsdk and I look again in mobile support and there is none listed for available sdk's How do i go about setting the destination of the sdk's I am also attaching some images

OK got it partially working for 6.7 RC2 and 7.0 rc2 currently uninstalling 6.6.3 to reinstall. I had to reinstall xcode 5.1.1 and remove the xcode 6 reference in mobile support. unfortunately 6.6.3 is greyed out for ios in mobile support and i am hoping that reinstalling will rectify the situation. hopefully my headache resolution will help someone else if they experience a similar issue. I will post my progress....

Hi rmuzzini & gstrekkie

I am expecting a 6.6.4 version early in the week (hopefully monday) which will get us going again http://forums.livecode.com/viewtopic.ph ... 12#p111112

Kind regards

Dave

PS: these issues are not being experienced just by LiveCode developers, I have a friend who uses PhoneGap who is also gnashing his teeth...

I've downloaded 6.6.4 to OS X Yosemite GM. LC still does not recognize Xcode 6. Options are still grayed out.
In the release notes, it is indicated 6.6.4 supports Xcode 6 on only OS X 10.9 Mavericks. (I thought Xcode 6 only runs on Yosemite?)
I hope this gets fixed soon...

Confirmed. 6.6.4 does not work either. :( XCode 6, Mavericks 10.9.5.

XCode 6 is the current version available from the iTune Store and it does work on Mavericks. So does the preview version 6.1 available in the dev center :
Xcode 6.1 GM seed for OS X Yosemite
This pre-release version of the Xcode 6.1 developer tools is required when developing for OS X Yosemite, and includes the Swift programming language. Xcode 6.1 runs on OS X Mavericks and OS X Yosemite Developer Preview.
How could RunRev release without even testing if it works ? ? ? If I did that, my customers would run away. And it seems they could not care less about the community forums :/

If that goes on, they will be ready when Xojo and B4i will arrive to market ...

Hi All,

I have tested linking Xcode 6.0.1 with LiveCode 6.6.4 on Mavericks and all is working great on my test machine and the rest of the development machines at RunRev HQ. If you are experiencing issues linking these items, please file a bug report at http:quality.runrev.com and we will happily investigate further

LiveCode 6.6.4 is a point release of the current 6.6.* release cycle. As this is the case, and as OSX Yosemite is still in pre-release status, linking of Xcode 6.* to LiveCode on Yosemite is still something we are working. Getting a release out which would allow building iOS apps is our priority as iOS 8 brought many changes which broke LiveCode built applications (other development environment experienced these same issues)

Yosemite support is on our radar and we have already started implementing support within 6.7 and 7.). The fix that is part of 6.6.4, will soon be integrated within these versions and this should enable the latest Xcode compatibility with LiveCode on Yosemite. The first part of bringing support is documented in the following report-

http://quality.runrev.com/show_bug.cgi?id=13417

Please bear with us as we work through these issues :)

Kind Regards,

Neil Roger

Mitch & Rob

Xcode 6.0.1 runs on Mavericks and I have LiveCode 6.6.4 building with it ok (I'm experiencing an issue with the iOS 8 simulator but - so far - things seem to be fine on an actual iOS 8 device)

As far as I know Xcode 6.1 is not yet in general release so if you downgrade to Xcode 6.0.1 you should have more success (at least on Mavericks, can't comment on Yosemite)

I have installed 6.6.4 rc1 on a Mac running Mavericks 1.9.5, with XCode 6 installed.

Now the iOS SDK is seen in /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer and the square indicator next to the box is green.

Yet when I hit "Test", I get the fated "Unknown deployment platform".

This not even half working, it is not working at all :(

The Unknown deployment platform message generally occurs when there is no simulator selected from the "Development"---->"Test Target" menu and this occurs due to adding a new Xcode version, with the previous simulators no longer being present.

Please try the above and let us know how you get on

Hi Mitch

Please remember even if you get the simulator working you may (like me) not get much joy from it - however things seem to work on actual iOS 8 devices - which is far better than working on the simulator but crashing on devices :)

I'm not quite ready to submit to iTunesConnect so can't comment on whether this is working or not (but I suspect it is working otherwise we would have heard...)

I can confirm that submitting to iTunesConect (Via App Loader) is also working :). For testing, we made a new release of Sheep Herder and then proceeded with the upload. This made it past the App Loader stages so it is now in the hands of Apple for approval. There is currently a 6 day turnaround on Apple reviewing an app, so we should hear back from them soon.

That did it. Now the simulator works. Thank you Neil. Now I need to get the program on the device. Will try to follow http://livecode.com/developers/guides/mobile/ios/
