"the simulator seems to be taking a long time to launch the app. do you wish to continue trying?"

then pop up another msg:
"unable to start simulation: simulator session timed out."

and:

Hi franco,
I get this if the sim isn't up and running before I hit Test.
Let the sim startup and show the home screen icons (on mine it takes quite a bit of time... maybe a minute and a half?) then hit test. Oh and in the menu of the sim go Hardware>Home.

Hi Simon,

sorry but I'm new in iOS deployment. how can I startup the sim without running the app clicking on "test" in the bar menu?

Hi franco,
When I get this
the simulator seems to be taking a long time to launch the app. do you wish to continue trying?
I generally just hit Cancel and then do the Hardware>Home and wait for the Home icons to show up.
OK just tested it took 3:49 to get the icons to show up.

But you can launch it from xCode Xcode>Open Developer tools > iOS simulator.
