Hi everyone,

I'm kind of getting tired of constantly being prompted to update Xcode. I've moved the app to a new directory, and changed the path in livecode... however, i'm still being prompted to "update" Xcode every time i log onto my computer...

when i try to build it still shows that it's looking in the applications\xcode.app to complete the build...

more than anything i'd like to just get this prompt to stop. Knowing me i'll accidentally update it at some point, and have to roll it back.. something i'm hoping to avoid.

does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this?

ok so I've actually solved my own problem. I guess making the post sparked an idea.

If anyone else is trying told do this here is what i did.

1) I made a folder outside of the application directory, and copied the version of Xcode i needed to that directory.
2) I went into livecode and added an entry to the directory i created, and removed the standard application\xcode directory.
3) I deleted Xcode from the application directory, and rebooted the computer.
4) I was still prompted to update Xcode which confused me a bit, but figured i'd give it a shot since i'd backed up the version i needed and the install dmg incase i messed something up.
5) the update completed, checked the application directory, and it did not reinstall Xcode.
6) opened up the Xcode version i moved, and it was still the correct version.
7) did a test build of my application in livecode and it worked. the update has also disappeared from my "update" tab in the mac app store.

it may be a few steps, but i'm glad i don't have to worry about accidentally clicking "update all" and causing an issue down the road.
