Developing an iBeacon app for iOS

Hello forum,
I need a quick guidance to put me in the right direction. I need to develop an app that can detect iBeacons and receive a message when the user walks in. How could I achieve this?
Thank you!

Hi...
I built an iOS app using beacons from 'Kontact.io' and mergCL... It worked more or less straight out of the box, as it were... but it was 'fiddly' getting it set up. This was about 18 months ago, I think that it should be a lot easier now as the beacons from 'Kontact.io' seem to have been greatly improved...

Hi Dixie,
Re writing what you said, you mean that currently LiveCode CAN generate iOS apps with iBeacon support, right? Hopefully it will be easier now, I checked mergCL and it seems straight forward. Do you know if I can simulate the beacon as well in LiveCode? Or most likely I can't and will have to debug by deploying to real devices? Other than that I think I'm ready to accept this app proposal and go for it xD !
Tnx man!

No, you will have to test your app and its proximity to beacons with your app installed on an iPhone..
