ios paid apps to in-apps purchase

Hi
I had a paid apps in apple store, now I want to change this to free apps with in-app purchase.
But the problem is, if I change to free apps with in-app purchase, it will affect those customer which had paid before.
Can anyone advice, would should I do. I had try to submit the same apps with free apps + in-app purchase to Apple, which reject by Apple, because it will not allow a similar apps in the Apple Store.
