An Epiphany

Post by Andycal » Tue Jun 16, 2009 4:26 pm

For anyone just starting out with RunRev and finding it chuffing frustrating, I'd just like to offer a bit of hope.

I've been lurking in here, asking the odd question for absolutely ages. Because I don't use RunRev that often and my weapon of choice is PHP, I usually find it frustrating to get into the right frame of mind for all this "put the last word of the fifth sentence of the stack to right of the fourth window" bobbins.

But last night I had an epiphany. I was locked out the house (long story) so I had to wait somewhere until the good lady wife turned up. So I went to the pub. No Internet but a need to write a program. I got myself a pint and within 30 minutes I'd 'got it'.

Finally, it snapped into place. Today I finished my application. I take it all back, RunRev is brilliant. Or maybe the beer I drink increases IQ, I dunno, answers on a post card...

Rev always seems to have that effect on new users.. Some it hits sooner, some later, but it always seems to smack them right dead center of the forehead when they least expect it.

Andy,

would you mind posting a Google Maps link to the pub? It seems to be a RunRev-Select-Pub®.
Rev could add it to the RevSelect section.
And of course the next developers conference would be held there.
They would take the hotel keys of the participants and off they go to the conference in that magic pub.

Also the link would be very handy for beginners, to point them to.

regards

Bernd

It'd be a pleasure:

It's the constitution club in Kinver. You need to be a member, but if you drop me a line before turning up, I'll get you in ;)
