How many livecode developers are there?

I am pitching the use of Livecode and I got asked how many developers there are for Livecode.

Anyone know? Is it hundreds? Thousands? Tens of thousands? Over 50k users?

The bean counters would like to know and it would help grease the wheels of progress.

The current best estimate from outsiders (read, "people like me who don't really know") is that there are at least many thousands, possibly tens of thousands by now, almost certainly not millions.

More on the story...at this point, it doesn't matter to me, I've gone ahead and made the purchase myself and the bean counters can reimburse me later. I'm looking at hoping to put out an app in the next few months.
