I just attempted to post a quick response to a question and got the error
Your message contains 55 characters. The minimum number of characters you need to enter is 100.
I guess being concise is not a virtue.
Probably this is a misguided attempt to cut down on spam.
I quoted the original message before my reply and that did the trick.

You should fill the remaining characters with your favorite cheese varieties. Brie, Camembert, blue castella

ok I've reduced the need for cheese varieties to just one, moderately long one. Camembert should just about do it... Or rather it's one letter short. The character requirement per post is now 10 characters. We have been having an irritating issue with spam lately, most of which are blank posts hence the change.

I'd put the length up again to 30 or so. Spam is coming back.
