Free LiveCode Trial?

I downloaded the Community Free version of LiveCode. 72 hours later, I tried to open LiveCode for the first time. It tells me that my Free trial has expired and I need to buy a license and activate it before I can use LiveCode. Why does it tell me this when I downloaded the Community version? Thank you for any advice.

Hi BoltNet,

1. welcome to the forum :-)

2. That should of course not happen with the open source version of Livecode!

What version of Livecode do you have, check hte "About" window.
Did you have a previous version of Livecode installed before?
Maybe there is an old license file somewhere?
Try to DEINSTALL that first.
What platform are you on? Mac or Win?

Best

That, above, was a totally nebulous message almost devoid of meaning.

There is no need of some sort of a 'trial' of Livecode now we have the Open Source variant.

The Open Source variant may be regard as, in some way, the 'trial' for the Commercial version.
