LC 6.6 / Windows / RunRev LiveCode Installer ?

Hi,

Please, what does the RunRev LiveCode Intaller in the background ?

I have upgraded to v 6.6 and each time I start LC, I see this process in the background eating 70% of the CPU and it nevers stops... Of course, I am able to kill this process but I would like to know what it does ? Is it a bug ?

Hi,

This could be the file .setup.exe, which checks for updates and asks if you want to update. Once an update is found, it stays running, to display the icon in the system tray. AFAIK you can safely depete .setup.exe, but you may have to uninstall LiveCode manuall when you want to delete old versions.

Many thanks for your information. In fact, I don't see the icon showing any update. And as I have selected to be warned about stable versions only the process should stop after having checked.

Yes, it should, but that doesn't work for me either. You might want to report this as a bug to QCC.

Please do you notice the same behaviour : now when I start one occurrence of LC, I have two occurrences of the RunRev LiveCode Installer running. And, after having closed LC, it is still running in the background
