Incorporating Max/msp/jitter patches

Hi

I'm a musician and I work with all sorts of MIDI based controllers and software-based instruments.

Thinking about a new concept and design for a musical instrument, I have started to look deeper into programming my own applications.

From all that I've been able to learn so far about Runrev without actually buying it, I am pretty excited about its ease of use and customizability - for lack of a better word.

However, I'm unclear as to how far I would be able to work with audio and graphic data through Revolution (either generated within the program, loaded from external sources "as is" or data loaded & then manipulated within the program - - - or all of these!) - this would be a main requirement for my project.

Those of you familiar with Max/msp know that possibilities within that enviroment are virtually endless with regard to audio and graphics manipulation - but then again, that's what it's intended to do.

Revolution, on the other side, seems to me the perfect environment to approach an idea from the GUI side, and thereby make sure the user experience is the best possible.

Long story short: Can you give me some insight as to the integration of Max/msp patches & collectives into a runrev program?

Or else, give me some more info about the audio and graphics computation capacities within Revolution, or point me in the right direction?

Many thanks in advance - your help & expertise are much appreciated.

best,
Mo

Mo, while Revolution has many capabilities regarding the use of various media, it's a high level language that is not ideally suited to heavy duty signal processing.

Almost anything you can think of is theoretically possible, but likely to be too slow in practice.

I'm not familiar with the max/msp stuff (though I've been meaning to check it out for years), but perhaps it would be possible to use Rev for the gui, and max/msp for the processing?

Best,
Mark

I am interested in unification of RunRev and max/msp, too.
I used RunRev for a calculation of the music for a while.
I came to use max/msp afterwards. In the case of me, the simple nature of the script writing of runrev is charm.
I want to use max/msp as Maine-software about UI and others now, but, about script writing, i am glad if “transcriptâ€
