Scottish Independence Referendum

The vote for independence in Scotland has been fun topic of discussion around work today. One question that came up was, how would independence affect businesses in Scotland? Since I only really know one business... how would the vote for Scottish Independence affect the good people at RunRev?

on a side note... how the hell do you guys get to vote on splitting away from the English? Ghandi had to starve himself, here in the former colonies we had to dump tea and start shooting, and for how long have the Irish been blowing things up in Belfast? And you guys get to just vote?

I think at the very least you should have to hurl haggis over the border or collectively moon the English.

Scottish Independence is NOT a "fun" topic. It is deadly serious, and whichever way the vote goes there is going to be a patch where things are not "fun" at all: either, in the event of a NO vote, because the English members of the parliament in England are going to get nasty, or, in the event of a YES vote, because Independence is not a rapid process.

So it looks as though RunRev will continue to be a British company.

William Wallace must be spinning in his grave though...

RR are missing a trick by not allowing people to Tweet a link to their question/response on the forum. it's a great way to induce people to look, read the code and think - I could do that. Users become the marketing team.

I'm not sure how tweeting forum links relates to Scottish independence, but I've been able to post all sorts of URLs to Twitter. What sort of problems did you encounter tweeting forum links?

Yes, so have I. But there is no option to tweet an LC forum link in the forum. Whereas Smilies take prominence! :?: Very 90s.

Very 90s indeed - I've been copying and pasting all the URLs I tweet, as I generally dislike the formatting of automated tweeters and it's just two small actions instead of one.

Have you seen a PHPBB plugin for tweeting? Maybe we could add it.

The point is to encourage 'free marketing' - 'ooh look I can tweet this'.

I quickly looked at http://twitterfeed.com/
