WOT Rating for runrev.com is "Dangerous"

Post by Garrett » Tue Oct 14, 2008 3:28 am

Wow, I recently added the WOT plugin to Firefox and hadn't visited Runrev's main site in a while. I go there tonight, and WOT pops up saying runrev.com is dangerous.

Someone at Runrev might want to check into this and see if they can rectify this with WOT.

Hi,

The reason why this happens is that there are only 8 entries about RunRev.com in WOT. Apparently, WOT is a rarely used service that shouldn't be taken seriously in connection to its reports about RunRev.com. Perhaps WOT will become more useful in the future. The idea seems good.

Best,

I think you should take another look at that. wot.com is not to the WOT site at all. It's a parked domain.

This service is a bunch of bull. I tried my own site. That has as a resume on it. and it gave it a danger-rating. I wrote the code and there no spyware etc on any part of the site.

I poke around and found there sources for there ratings which are very not trustworthy at all. It based from user feedback. Who to say some user is not some nut job that dislikes the person who's site it is. And turns in a negitve rating.

Even the the other services they use are all based off user feedback. How trustworthy is that?

Well, my concern in posting about this was so that Runrev could possibly do something about the bogus rating they have. They could be losing potential sales due to such a thing.

What can RunRev to do address a bogus phishing claim from a site over which they have no control?

I can't tell if you're serious there, Garrett, but my question was in earnest: if WOT's rating is based on factors outside of RunRev's control, what can RunRev do to affect it?
