Buying myself some foot-pedals?

A few years ago, after the 2009 Edinburgh RunRev conference, I went away up to St. Andrews (my base in Scotland, and ...
Was asked by a lady there who was blessed with a Macintosh eMac (!!!!) if I could program something to help her with
transcribing .AIFF files . . .
I knocked up something pretty basic which probably left her cursing pretty quickly . . . but, then it was free . . .
Anyway, today I was shopping for toilet paper and, logically, went looking for it in the computer section of my local hypermarket here in Bulgaria.
I noticed several steering wheel with pedal sets ups for silly race games; all USB based . . . AND . . . wondered, as most old-fashioned cassette-tape-based
transcription machines were foot-pedal operated so the transcriber had their hands free for the typewriter.
Presumably (!!!!!!! before I invest !!!!!!!) Livecode can pick up any USB signal as a rawKeyDown signal, and so should pick up signals from the sort of foot pedals that
come with these kits.
