G'day,

OK from recommendation etc I decided to plunged into buying the software today, actually about half an hour ago..lol I bought Studio as it seems fit for what I intended to learn from and create from. Now I'm using a macbook pro, with quicktime pro etc. I installed the plugin from the installation package before. Each time I click on that getting started with revolution video it directs me to a page. Now my problem is this, I get audio with a green screen. So I reinstalled the plugin, I'm still only getting audio and no video. OK, I'm stumped I don't have a clue with is happening with quicktime. It is video right? If so, any clue on how to tweak this to work?

Cheers,

Joe

Welcome to the Revolution - if you have any questions, we'll gladly help you out.

WRT your video problems: sometimes the Ensharpen codec doesn't kick in until after a restart. Have you tried restarting your Mac?

G'day Jan,

I'm running the latest 7.5.5 quicktime etc. I must say it doesn't kick in any time.. lol

I've reinstalled revolution, quicktime, the plug-ins etc even using a unpacking software to force a unpack to the Library area, System preference etc.. reboot multitude times. Nothing gives. I'm wondering if its the latest Mac OS X update. During the trial, I installed the plugin and it works fine. Didn't think much of it and just switch revolution off and never bothered with it till I purchase the software. Even from the tutorial site, the wmv format won't work and get a black screen with audio only nor does the quicktime version. Used Firefox instead of Safari too and even downloading individual tutorial and no hope. Quicktime just won't play the video and just the audio bits.. yikes!

I'm totally stumped.

Well if the obvious advice doesn't work, I suggest you email support@runrev.com so that the RunRev techies can help you out.

Hiya Jan,

Yeah I have been communicating with the support team too. Apparently someone else had the same problem and came up with a temporary solution.

Perian plug-in seem to be the caused of the problem, once uninstalled the problem is resolved... Thought I share this here as well.

Thanks for the suggestion Jan.

Cheers!

I had the same problem, spent a lot of time disabling/re-enabling plug-ins and other stuff and finally gave up. Still can't play the videos. I don't have the Perian plug-in installed.

Anyway, glad you got it to work.

Uninstall Perian

At your Mac, just uninstall Perian.

Perian codecs for QuickTime are in conflict with the Ensharpen codec.

I simply clicked on the "Remove Perian" button, at the general tab, at the Perian Preference Pane and videos started to play perfect within Revolutions Resource Center.

Before doint that, I had to open Revolution videos using VLC for Mac
