livecode homepage is a black laptop on winXp, is it normal?
I get this:

What browser are you using? What you should see is video playback creating a simple app. The is implemented using HTML5 video tags so the first thing I would check is if your browser supports this.

Firefox, last version (37).

Probably embedding a youtube video would be more compatible.

We've used our own video hosting to give us more control over the player, branding and analytics. I've had a quick internet search for the issue you are experiencing and it does seem like a known issue with Windows XP and Firefox.

One thing to try would be using an alternative browser (e.g. chrome) to see if this issue still occurs. This would rule out any browser specific issues.

I tried:

• Firefox 37 = black laptop
• Opera 23 = black laptop
• Internet explorer 8 = "your browser doesn't' support HTML5" and a mess of website, unusable
• Google Chrome OK

A bad homepage is a very negative advertising for a coding company, I suggest you to use normal HTML and images in the top part of homepage, and to put videos in other parts of homepage or in another page of website. I think that I am not the only one who thought that website was under construction.

That page is really sexy using Firefox 37.0.2 on Xubuntu 15.04

all sorts of animated stuff! Lovely.

Black screen also on Linux Ubuntu Lucid lynx (2010-2014) and Firefox 20.
