Linguists trying to write papers.

My wife got bogged down with Microsoft office on her MacBook Air because she
really couldn't work out how to write characters like this: ḍ in her academic papers.
So: I popped together a standalone in Livecode 7.1.4 for Macintosh and Linux [attaching stack]:
and it works beautifully; this:
pastes as:
ḍ, ĥ, ĕ or ȝ
