Views ratio on forum and Use-List

I have always wondered about the difference in the clientele.
On the use-list, there are far fewer "views" in relation to respondents for a given topic. Anywhere from about even to just two or three times as many. On the forums, the ratio is much greater, often 50x -100x.
Does this say anything about the user level in either venue? Does it mean far more new users lurk in the forums?

As all the posts on the Use-List are downloaded by my e-mail client onto my machine, when I read/view
them the Use-List does not record that; and I suspect that is true of many viewers.
This apparent discrepancy has probably got more to do with the nature of the beasts than anything
to do with actual viewing figures

Hmmm.
If I go directly to the nabble site
http://runtime-revolution.278305.n4.nabble.com I would think that the info there is "raw" and correct.
I could be wrong about that.

If my e-mail client (Thunderbird) downloads the Use-List postings to my computer
I wonder if it sends information back to the Use-List if I read one of those postings.
I doubt it very much.

The Nabble site lists them near the right side of the topic list.
I still find the forum format far more readable and friendly. Is it possible I am in the wrong place?

Ah, thanks. I read the list daily, but almost never through Nabble. There's also GMane, and the archives at LiveCode.com, so those reading through the web are pretty spread out.
But more importantly, it's a mailing list. Only a relatively slender subset get the email list through a web archive, most read and reply through email.

If you like the forums then the forums are the best place to be.
