Hey, wanted to thank everyone on the board for all the help I've received both from reading, answering, and asking questions here. I've learned a tremendous amount in a very short time.
Some recurring health issues are .. uh. recurring. So I'm going to fall off the face of the earth for a while. I'll try to polish up the app I've been working on and post it to rev-online before I poof entirely on the off chance it'll help others as much as the samples and forums have helped me.
You've all been great, and I'm sure I'll be back here poking my nose into threads on my next upswing.
Thanks again, finding a group of people this willing and able to help others is a rare thing!

Sturgis,
I liked the way you tackled code and the way you helped others.
It was always something to think about.
Hope to see you around again soon.
regards
Bernd

Thanks for the kind words. Having an up day so thought i'd pop in a cover a couple things..
Am I the only one who can't get into revOnline? Is it fixable on my end?
The reason I asked is I finished my app (as finished as its going to get till things improve, its functional enough as is). I would like to post it on the off chance it might help others, and can't get it revOnline to let me login.
I WILL be back more reliably before too long hopefully. Learning new stuff is one of my great enjoyments in life, and this has been a treasure trove of newness for me.
The nice people are just a bonus.
Quick synopsis of my app:
Basically it could be considered an app stub. Somewhere to start, and then fill in. Currently it does 3 things chosen from a datagrid form on the left. It calculates a loan amortization schedule, and displays it in a grid table on the right. It calculates the future value of an investment today at a set rate, and.. this one is sort of silly. It estimates boat speeds based on gear ratio, engine rpm, and prop pitch, then displays a list of estimated speeds adjusted for varying amounts of "slip." from mere 5% slip up to around 80% slip.
It's not well documented yet, i'll do that when able, and i'm sure there are LOTS of ways it could be cleaned up and improved, but again, that has to be something for a later date. If anyone has any questions about it (once I get it posted) and needs help modifying it to add functions or whatever, feel free to ask.. in this thread if thats ok. When I get notification of something posted to this thread i'll crawl back out of my self imposed hole and see whats up.
Cheers to all, hope life is as beautiful for everyone else as it is for me.

Hi Mike
Glad you're feeling well today; I sincerely hope that continues for you.
Am I the only one who can't get into revOnline?
If you mean the 3.5 version, I can't connect to the server either, and I've tried eight or nine times at different times of the day. I've uploaded a stack to the old RevOnline (2.9 or 3.0) . More people would be able to download your app anyway, I think, if you did the same...
Looking forward to seeing your stack, it sounds interesting!

Sturgis (aka mike)-
The new (rev 3.5) revOnline requires a new login. You have to register for a new account, the old login info won't work with it.
...and don't disappear for too long.

Hi sturgis,
I wrote about login problems of Rev 3.5 revOnline to Heather (support at RunRev).
She replied that they have technical problems they are trying to solve.
So even if you registered you might have to try it periodically, if you get the 'can not connect to server' message.

Thanks for the info. I did register on the new system, had never registered on the old. I've had a couple straight days of the "couldn't connect to server, please try again later" messages, so thought I'd check here.
I'll be patient and check again on my next upswing.
THx much
