Hello friends,
I have only just start to use Livecode and I find it so very nice.
I have a question please, I am sorry englishe is not my first language so please rejoin me. Thank you!
I hear story from my friend, he claim that because Livecode has code written by European people in it, when Brexit come to UK Livecode will not work any more; is this real life or maybe just some one being foolish?
I really hope this isn't true as I have made a very nice program to contain detail of my dvd collection and my music. I don't a lot bout how to program but livecode satisfy me.
Thank you all
Alberto

Hello Alberto
To expand on Richmond's brief quote from your post, LiveCode was written by many people from quite a few places, not just by European's.
That in and of itself means nothing, though, Brexit will have no effect on LiveCode since it is also an "Open Source" program. As long as people decide to improve it, then it will continue on regardless of what any particular country, nation, region decide to do.
Your friend sounds a bit alarmist.

Most of my "memes" here are meant to be funny.
This one is nothing of the sort:
-
-
I've said some fairly offensive things about Kevin Miller in my time, (and I'm sure he's said some
fairly offensive things about me, but, because either he or his advisors have manners and tact
(something I don't) he's never overtly stated then) but, compared with Boris Johnson
(apart from the fact that Boris's hair is much, much more bog-brushy) he is a sweetie.
Oh, God, that cat read what I wrote and sunk her teeth into me.
Quick, before she does it again; better get something rude about "Our Kev" in:
OK: Kevin: go and see your barber dead quick and tell him you need to out-Boris Boris Johnson.

I'd go with the latter.
Think about it: how could a trade agreement stop the functional operation of a software package?
There are enough legitimate concerns about Brexit that the issue hardly needs random FUD to make people wary of it.

Is this thread, however odd, missing an entry? How did Kevin get involved at all?

I've never seen anyone, neither from the company or any of the volunteer moderators, delete posts except for those that are obvious spam.
And I've never known Kevin to personally have the time for forum moderation at all.
Some threads just don't make sense all by themselves.

To be honest, this question seemed so unbelievably daft I felt what is needed was an equally daft response.

Boris seems to inspire those things.
Urk... I've used "Boris" and "inspire" in the same sentence. I've obviously had enough for one night.
